Black Ostrich Plume Feather

Black Ostrich Plume Feather

Black ostrich feathers are one of the most popular colors for ostrich feathers. If i had to guess i would say that dyed white ostrich feathers would be the most popular ostrich feather color. But black ostrich feathers are up there in popularity.

When it comes to ostrich feathers, there are 2 main types - ostrich drabs and ostrich plumes. The plumes are the fuller and larger feather, with the drabs being stiffer and smaller.

Ostrich feathers, both plumes and drabs are naturally between off white and brown. The cleaner feathers (ie. the less brown ostrich feathers) are bleached white, to have a very soft and fluffy cloud-like look to them. The darker brown ostrich feathers are used to be dyed darker colors, ie. dyed black ostrich feathers. And that’s how they make those beautiful big black ostrich plumes and the slick looking jet black ostrich drabs.

As far as personal taste goes, i love black ostrich feathers - both black ostrich drabs and black ostrich plumes.

Sorry for only posting two pictures of black ostrich feathers, i will post more soon.

Thats it for now, thanks for reading.

Ostrich Plume Feathers are large ostrich feathers, that are by far the prettiest ostrich feather. They have strong quills that measure about the thickness of a pen. The fluffy fibers can go to 10 inches in length. These Ostrich Plume Feathers are used for wedding centerpieces, feather centerpieces, ostrich feather gowns, and most things in ostrich feather fashion. The Ostrich Feather Plumes have very nice fibers and tips that hang down. It is very important to have the ostrich feathers cleaned, steamed and brushed for the best ostrich plume look possible. This is done by hand at the hold school fancy feather suppliers.
